Abstract

English as a foreign language is always be considered a difficult language to be learned. There are four language skills that must be mastered, those are listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Writing is the most difficult skill to be learned among those four. In order to know the mastery of writing ability, assessment should be done. Assessing writing sometimes difficult to be done because the lecturer does not know what to be done and how to assess writing ability. This paper attempts to help the lecturer understand the key factors in assessing writing called validity and reliability. The goal of this paper is to enrich the knowledge of the lecturer about the technique of assessing writing.

Abstract

Indonesia sudah memasuki era Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN (MEA) sejak Januari 2016 seperti halnya ke sembilan negara anggota ASEAN. Pemerintah melakukan berbagai persiapan dan akan terus mencanangkan langkah-langkah agar Indonesia dapat berdiri sejajar dengan anggota ASEAN lainnya, termasuk kesiapan SDM sebagai salah satu pilar MEA. Bagaimanakah dengan kesiapan tenaga kerja pada sector transportasi laut ? Mengingat kebijakan pemerintah sendiri adalah mewujudkan Indonesia sebagai poros maritim dunia, dengan salah satunya penerapan Tool laut. Seyogyanya tenaga kerjaa pada sector transportasi laut ikut juga mempersiapkan diri dari sisi pembekalan keterampilan berstandar intenasional khususnya melalui International Maritime Organtation (IMO). Kemampuan berbahasa asing, penerapan teknologi informasi, serta berwawasan global sudah menjadi suatu kemampuan wajib yang harus dimiliki. Studi ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menelaah factor-faktor apa saja yang perlu diperhatikan oleh pemerintah dalam mendorong peingkatan kualitas tenaga kerja pada sector transportasi laut.Penelaahan dilakukan secara kualitatif deskriptif tentang fakta-fakta kegiatan yang tercatat dan terpublikasi. Dari hasil studi tersebut didapatkan bahwa perlu adanya dorongan dalam meningkatkan kualitas tenaga kerja pada sector transportasi laut terutama dalam hal penguasaan bahasa asing untuk menjadi salah satu profesi yang memiliki standar kompetensi di tingkat ASEAN. Keikutsertaan organisasi profesi dalam mempersiapkan tenaga kerja yang memenuhi standar yang diminta belum terlihat secara signifikan. Pendalaman terhadap kegiatan organisasi kepelautan di Indonesia menunjukkan bahwa mereka belum memprioritaskan kegiatannya pada persiapan diri menghadapi MEA.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to formulate a strategy model for human resource fisherman development in the South Coast of Cilacap in the face of the National Market using the soft system methodology (SSM) approach. This study resulted in a conceptual modeling of the strategy of developing the human resources of stakeholders (stakeholders) with increasing productivity in realizing the welfare and sustainability of Catcher Processing Fishermen in the South Coast of Cilacap, Central Java. The strategy for developing Fishermen Processing Fishermen in the South Coast of Cilacap, Central Java is a strategic action to generate competency and quality of fishermen with high competitiveness, especially in facing local competition and national competition through various HR capacity development programs. HR investment is an intellectual investment that has an important meaning for regional development and enhances the welfare of the people of South Coast Coastal Fishermen, Cilacap, Central Java.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the freight cost and the percentage of selling to buying at PT. Global Marine in the freight forwarding division. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study which is a description of a company's secondary sources which is a study that does not make calculations. The results of this study show that PT. Global Marine spends a number of different freight costs on each job adjusted for distance, needs, and port of delivery as well as the percentage between selling and buying at that company. The costs incurred by the company can be concluded that there are trucking costs, lift off / on, loading freight, seal fees, handling, ocean freight, doc fee + 10% vat, telex reales, forklifts, cleaning, storage, labor, THC, collateral containers, amendment fee, document, custom, mechanical, udername, and import insurance. While the percentage difference between seling and buying is seen from the comparison between selling and profit per job.

Abstract

Shipping safety is very important and occupies a central position in all aspects of the shipping world. Aspects inherent in shipping safety include the characteristics of attitudes, values, and activities regarding the importance of fulfilling safety and security requirements concerning transportation in waters Ship and shipping safety indicators are two sides that are not separated, the ship must have safety equipment including lifeboats, life jackets, fire extinguishers, documents and certificates, the ship's screen-worthy condition. The health of the crew, all must be properly prepared and ascertained the existence and circumstances so that the cruise will be safe and secure.

Abstract

The goal to be achieved in this paper is to predict the form of cloud based on rainfall criteria in Cilacap waters. (1. Group of nimbostratus clouds, stratus, altostratus, 2. Group of stratocumulus and altocumulus clouds 3. Cumulus and cumulonimbus cloud groups). The method in this study is a combination of survey and literature review. In this study the authors take the location in the waters of Cilacap. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Cilacap Regency. Sample data used is statistical data within the period of 5 years starting from 2012 until 2016. Based on the data analysis that has been done, namely the classification or classification of rainfall intensity data within the period of 5 years (2012-2016) obtained detailed data that is : In 2012 the average rainfall intensity of 10.6mm with rainfall criteria including light rain then belongs to the cloud form of Stratocumulus, altocumulus; In 2013 the average intensity of 11.1mm rainfall with rainfall criteria including light rain then belongs to the cloud form of Stratocumulus, altocumulus; In 2014 the average rainfall intensity of 13.5mm with rainfall criteria including light rain then belongs to the cloud form of Stratocumulus, altocumulus; By 2015 the average rainfall intensity of 10.3mm with rainfall criteria including light rain then includes the Stratocumulus cloud form group, altocumulus; In 2016 the average rainfall intensity of 18.4mm with rainfall criteria including light rain then belongs to the cloud form of Stratocumulus, altocumulus. Based on the details of the data, it can be concluded that the prediction of cloud form based on rainfall that occurs in the waters of cilacap is the group of stratocumulus and altocumulus cloud form.
